Treatment Methods
Within my practice, I used a combinations of techniques: spinal manipulation, functional movement rehabilitation focus on spine, soft-tissue massage and sports massage; hereby a brief insight of why these treatments / techniques are being used:
Spinal Manipulation
Spinal manipulation, also known as spinal adjustment, is a manual therapy to treat various musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those related to the spine. It involves applying controlled, sudden force to a specific joint in the spine to correct misalignments or dysfunctions.
Functional Movement Rehabilitation - Spine
Functional Movement Rehabilitation for the spine focuses on restoring proper movement patterns, reducing pain, and improving the overall function of the spine. It involves assessing spinal alignment and movement, creating personalized treatment plans, and using targeted exercises to enhance strength, flexibility, and stability. This approach aims to correct imbalances, improve posture, and support daily activities, ultimately promoting spinal health and preventing re-injury.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy aimed at athletes and individuals engaged in regular physical activity. It involves a range of techniques designed to help prepare the body for athletic performance, enhance performance, and aid recovery after events or training sessions
Deep-Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue, applying firmer pressure to release chronic tension, muscle knots, and adhesions. It promotes recovery, reduces pain, and improves mobility.
Soft-Tissue Massage
Soft tissue massage involves applying gentle pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and reduce tension
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
IASTM is a technique that uses specially designed instruments to apply targeted pressure to muscles and connective tissue. It helps break up adhesions, promotes blood flow, and supports the recovery of soft tissue injuries.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy focuses on treating small, tense muscle knots that cause pain and stiffness. By applying targeted pressure to these trigger points, tension is reduced, blood circulation is stimulated, and muscle function is restored.
